This Privacy Policy explains how SnapPick ("SnapPick", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the SnapPick mobile application and related services.

SnapPick is designed to help users keep personal reviews and notes about products they have tried. We believe that your personal product reviews should remain private.

Your personal reviews are not publicly visible and are not shared with other SnapPick users.

By using SnapPick, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use SnapPick, we may collect and process the following information.

1.1. Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Internal user identifier
• Authentication information necessary to securely access your account

Passwords, if password-based authentication is used, are stored only in a securely hashed form. We do not store passwords in plain text.

1.2. Product Reviews

SnapPick allows you to create personal reviews of products.

A review may include:

• Whether you liked or disliked a product
• Whether you would buy the product again
• Rating
• Personal notes or comments
• Date the review was created or updated
• Other information you voluntarily add to your review

Your personal reviews are associated with your account so that you can access and synchronize them across supported devices.

Personal reviews are not publicly displayed and are not accessible to other SnapPick users.

1.3. Product and Barcode Information

When you scan or manually enter a product barcode, we may process and store:

• Barcode number
• Product name
• Brand
• Product description
• Product category
• Product image
• Source of the product information

Product information may be retrieved from third-party product databases, including Open Food Facts, where applicable.

If a product is not found in an external product database, you may choose to add product information yourself or continue without providing additional product details.

Product information such as product name, brand, category, description, or product image may become part of the shared SnapPick product database and may be visible to other users who scan the same product.

Your personal review of that product remains private.

1.4. User-Submitted Product Information

If you choose to contribute information about a product, you may provide:

• Product name
• Brand
• Product description
• Product category
• Product photographs

Information submitted for the purpose of completing or improving the general product database may be reviewed, moderated, corrected, or combined with information from other sources.

Before submitting such information, SnapPick may inform you that the submitted product information can be used to improve the shared product database.

Personal review content is treated separately from general product information.

1.5. Product Images

You may choose to take a photograph using your device camera or select an existing image from your device.

Depending on the purpose of the image, it may be:

• Stored as part of your personal data; or
• Submitted as product information for inclusion in the shared product database.

SnapPick will distinguish between personal content and product information intended for the shared database where applicable.

We do not access your camera or photos without your permission.

1.6. Technical and Diagnostic Information

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service, such as:

• Application version
• Device operating system
• Error and crash information
• Server request logs
• Date and time of requests
• IP address for security, abuse prevention, and technical diagnostics

If third-party analytics or crash-reporting services are introduced, this Privacy Policy and the relevant Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated accordingly.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts
• Authenticate users
• Store and synchronize personal reviews
• Display your previous reviews when you scan a product again
• Search for products using barcodes
• Retrieve product information from external product databases
• Maintain and improve the SnapPick product database

We do not sell personally identifiable user information to third parties.

3. Privacy of Personal Reviews

SnapPick is designed around personal product reviews.

Your personal reviews are not publicly visible.

Other SnapPick users cannot view your personal reviews, notes, ratings, or personal purchase decisions.

We do not provide brands or other commercial organizations with information that identifies the individual user who created a review.

4. Aggregated and Anonymized Analytics

In the future, SnapPick may provide brands, manufacturers, or other business customers with aggregated or anonymized statistical information about products.

Such information may include, for example:

• Total number of product ratings
• Percentage of positive and negative ratings
• Percentage of users who indicated that they would or would not purchase a product again
• Aggregated rating trends over time
• Other statistical insights derived from multiple users

Such reports are intended to be provided in a form that does not directly identify individual users.

We do not provide business customers with:

• User names
• User email addresses
• User account identifiers
• Complete activity histories of individual users
• Information intended to directly identify the author of a review

We may apply minimum sample-size requirements or other privacy safeguards before displaying aggregated statistics.

Personal written notes or review text will not be provided to brands or business customers in identifiable form. If SnapPick introduces a feature that uses personal written review content for additional purposes, users will be informed and, where required, appropriate consent will be obtained.

5. Third-Party Product Data

SnapPick may use third-party services to retrieve information about products based on barcodes.

This may include Open Food Facts or other product information providers.

When SnapPick queries such services, the product barcode or other information necessary to perform the product search may be transmitted to the relevant service.

Third-party services process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

SnapPick may store product information retrieved from third-party sources where permitted by the applicable license and terms of use.

The source of externally obtained product information may be recorded in our database.

6. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect user information.

These measures may include:

• Encrypted HTTPS connections
• Secure authentication
• Password hashing
• Access controls
• Database access restrictions
• Server security measures
• Backups
• Logging and monitoring for security purposes

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the SnapPick service or as required by applicable law.

Personal reviews are generally retained while your account remains active, unless you delete them.

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, troubleshooting, and abuse-prevention purposes.

General product information that has been contributed to the shared product database may be retained independently of the user's account where legally permitted, because it forms part of the general product catalog rather than the user's personal review history.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your SnapPick account and associated personal data.

Account deletion will be available:

• From within the SnapPick application; and/or
• Through our account deletion webpage.

When your account is deleted, personal information associated with your account, including your personal reviews, will be deleted or anonymized, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate security purposes.

General product information that you contributed to the shared product database may remain in the product database after your account is deleted, provided that it no longer identifies you.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Delete personal reviews
• Request deletion of your account
• Request deletion of personal information
• Export certain information associated with your account
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

10. Camera and Photo Access

SnapPick may request permission to access your device camera for:

• Scanning product barcodes
• Taking product photographs

SnapPick may also allow you to select photographs from your device.

Camera and photo permissions are used only for features that require them.

You can manage these permissions through your device settings.

11. Children's Privacy

SnapPick is not specifically designed for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age required to consent to the processing of personal data in their jurisdiction.

If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. International Data Processing

Depending on the location of our servers and service providers, information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where required by applicable law, we take appropriate measures regarding international transfers of personal information.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
